Mission Statement
To
market and develop a Unique Australian Lifestyle to visitors, to
maximise the economic, social and environmental benefits of the
Residents in the Somerset Region.
The Aims of the Mission Statement, reviewable every twelve months are:-
A consultative role per medium of "Open Exchange" with Local Authorities and Community Groups.
Networking with "Group Members" and Organisations external to the Somerset Region to secure on-going, increased, visitor levels.
Encourage by support and advise, new venues and attractions to offer a variety and depth of products.
To foster training, professionalism and accreditation, to ensure the highest quality of service.
Objectives:
To encourage sustainable growth in tourism so that it becomes a premier income producer in the region.
To educate both the members of the groupand the residents of the
region, in the economic value of tourism, whilst still retaining the
values of rural life in the region.
Our Role:
We
are the recognised tourism body with Brisbane Marketing,
our Regional Tourism Organisation, and Tourism Queensland.
Representation to "Brisbane Marketing, is via the Somerset Regional
Council, the council being the member of that body.
We have direct contact with Tourism Queensland, as well as through Brisbane Marketing.
Contact with neighbouring regions is maintained through Council, Brisbane Marketing, Tourism Queensland, and independently.
We are involved in the co-ordination of advertising and promotion through the above bodies.
Encouragement and assistance to operators setting up new products is part of our role.
When appropriate, seek finance via grant applications to assist in promotions for all facets of tourism in our region.
Assisting and advising council on relevant tourism product and promotions is also within our scope.
