Winya Wines is nestled in the
picturesque valley of
Sandy Creek, Kilcoy situated in the Somerset
Region.. It is just 1.5
hours easy drive from Brisbane and only 1 hour from the Sunshine
Coast. Owners Gary (Snow) and Sue Pratten ventured
into grape
growing in 1997 as an addition to their beef cattle
property. In
2001, Snow and Sue were able to process their first vintage through
renowned
winemaker Craig Robinson from the Robinson Family,
Ballandean.
The white wines are now processed by Thomas
Honnef from Oceanview Winery, Mt.Mee. The result is
7 varieties of
superb Queensland Wines and 2 varieties of port, which are recognized
for their
fine quality. As well as wine tastings
and sales Winya
Wines is now offering
sales of their black angus beef through the cellar door. You
are invited to visit their on farm
display of quality grain assisted black angus yearlings.
Take a drive to
Kilcoy and visit their cellar door where you can enjoy fine wine
tasting in a
friendly, relaxed atmosphere and appreciate the breathtaking views of
the
surrounding district. Operating times are between
10am and 4pm
